47 Box Shed Fire
November 2, 2008

County dispatched the tanker around 18:30 to assist company 47 (South Hanover) with a working shed fire that had also caught a nearby house on fire. Tanker 54 with Lieutenant 1 Smith and 4 firefighters arrived and supplied water to the units operating on the scene.


Mutual Aid to Middletown
November 3, 2008

county dispatched box 88-3 around 14:00hrs for sheds on fire with an exposure problem. Engine 54 arrived and assisted crews with knocking down the fire. While operating at the scene, company 59's wagon Chauffeur went down from a hear attack. Our crews called the may-day and South Central EMS started CPR and revived the firefighter before arrival to the hospital. The firefighter was doing good at Hershey Med as of Monday evening. We wish the firefighter a speedy recovery and our thoughts and prayer are with him, his family and the company 59 members.



First Snowfall and a Rollover
November 21, 2008

As members were waking up to start their day everyone was surprised to see a coating of snow on the ground for the first time this winter. Then county dispatched the 81-2 box @ 06:45 For a reported crash with entrapment on Colebrook Road between Chestnut and Deodate Roads. Captain 54-1(Dupler) went enroute and county advised everyone was out of the vehicle. Engine 54(Captain Kandrac) went on the scene and stabilized the vehicle. Ambulance 54-1 arrived and assisted the Driver and her 11 month old child who were uninjured. Crews remained on the scene until the arrival of PSP.

Assisting To Lancaster County - Barn Fire
November 23, 2008

County dispatched Tanker 54 at 02:11 in the early morning to assist the Bainbridge Fire Company in Lancaster County at a Barn Fire. Tanker 54(Deputy Chief Nissley) went enroute with 6. The tanker arrived and went around the farm house and to start knocking down the fire from the rear of the building. Tanker 54 then went to refill and dumped water into a port-a-tank supplying other engines on the scene. Then the Tanker had a mishap and blew out two tires requiring the assistance of Service Truck Tire to come to the scene and replace the tires. The driver and tanker finally returned home around 08:30.
