Stray Boat

Around 09:30 County hit for a Company 54 OIC to call communications. Chief 54-1 (Nissley) being the on duty OIC for this week called in and County advised of a stray boat over turned on the Swatara Creek just south of the turnpike. While enroute county dispatched Box 54-7 to the Naaman Canter for an automatic alarm. Chief 54 went enroute and county advised that they were painting on the second floor and Chief 54 placed the box in service. Meanwhile back at the creek Chief 1 found the boat along with a second boat that was stuck on debris at the turnpike bridge pier. Captain 54-1(Dupler) and Lieutenant 54-1 (Smith) retrieved the boats and cleared the call.
Speed Boat in
Distress
June 9
County dispatched box 54-9 around 22:30 on the Susquehanna River for a speed boat in distress. Chief 54-1(Nissley) went enroute and county advised of a small speed boat had run out of gas and was waiting assistance on the tip of a small Island in the area of the Tri-County Marina. Boat 54 arrived at the marina and grabbed a gas can off of the Utility and headed out to find the vessel. Boat 54's crew located the vessel and after talking with them discovered that they had run out of gas approximately 2 hours before and had walked along the island pulling their boat the whole way to the tip of the Island. Boat 54 refueled the vessel and waited to make sure their boat would start. After the vessel was underway boat 54 returned to the Marina and the box was placed in service.

Possible
Drowning
June 11, 2008
County dispatched company 54 to the 54-3 box for a possible drowning. Chief and Engine 54 went enroute and county advised of a missing 10year old boy who the caller believed may have drowned in an old in ground pool. Engine 54 arrived and as members started searching in the pool a neighbor arrived with the boy who had been playing down the street. The boy asked if we were cleaning the pool for him and the box was placed in service.
