Car Fire on
Engle Road
January 14
At around 17:00 hrs County dispatched the 54-6 box for a reported car fire on Engle Road just off of 441. Engine 54 (Capt-1 Dupler) arrived and confirmed a well involved passenger car fire. Tanker and Eng-1 crews arrived and assisted the Engine crews. The box was then placed in service.

Head-on Collision on 283
January 19
County dispatched Box 54-1 on Route 283 West bound for a vehicle accident with injuries. Engine 54 (Captain Kandrac) went en route with 6 and county advised they were receiving reports of a vehicle going east bound in the west bound lanes and had struck an oncoming vehicle head on. Engine 54 and Rescue 88 arrived to find one PT severely trapped in a SUV. Rescue crew worked to remove the doors and roof, push the dash and remove some seats to free the driver. Engine 54 crew pulled a safety line and secured all 3 vehicles that were involved. Engine 54-1 arrived and set up the LZ for Life Lion. Crews worked for 44 minutes to extricate the driver. Crews remained on scene to assist with the removal of the crashed and stuck vehicles (E-1, again).
