Grantville
February 13 and 14
While operating on a trees and wires call, the Tanker was dispatched to assist Company 39 (Grantville) on a propane tanker accident with fire. Tanker 54 arrived at around 10:30 and operated for about 11 hours. The Tanker dumped 20 times for 66,000 gallons of water and traveled 131 miles. This is the most water hauled for one call in the history of the company. The Tanker returned home around 22:00hrs Wed night. On Thursday just before 05:00hrs the Tanker was called to assist again. This time the Tanker dumped 2 loads and returned to quarters at about 14:30hrs.

Vehicle into
House
February 24
County dispatched box 54-7 for a reported 2 vehicle crash with one vehicle into a house and one patient unconscious. Chief 54(Shellenhamer) went en route and county advised of a firefighter on the scene reporting entrapment, adding Rescue 88. EMS arrived and requested Life Lion to fly. Engine 54 arrived and crews started to crib the vehicle and pulled a protection line. Rescue 88 arrived and started to cut the roof of the vehicle with the confinement. Engine 54-1 arrived and set up the landing zone for Life Lion in the adjacent parking lot. Crews extricated the pt and carried him to the landing zone where Life Lion was waiting. Crews then secured the utilities to the damage structure and stood by until the vehicles were remove from the scene.

Structure Fire
in Hershey
February 25
County dispatched Company 54 for reported MVA on Route 283 westbound, just west of Tollhouse Rd. Captain 54 (Kandrac) went enroute, county advised one vehicle off roadway, upside down, and on fire. Captain 54 arrived on scene, vehicle was not on fire, but driver was confined in overturned vehicle. Rescue 88 added to box for extrication assistance. Engine 54 arrived on scene, crew began vehicle stabilization, and patient care. Rescue 88 arrived and assisted Engine crew with patient extrication and stabilization. Driver and her baby were transported to Hershey Medical Center by MICU 7-3 and MICU 4-1. Crews were released when the vehicle was removed from scene.
