Structure Fire
Next to Firehouse
February 7
County Dispatched Londonderry Fire @03:42 at the intersection of N. Geyers Church and Foxianna Roads (next to the firehouse) for a reported Mobile Home Fire. Crew responding to the firehouse reported a fully involved trailer fire. E-54 (Captain 1 Dupler) arrived and placed into service 2- 1 3/4 lines. Crews tried an interior attack but due to collapse of the roof and live ammunition going off crews went defensive. Rescue 88 and E-88-1 arrived and pulled a third line off of E-54 and assisted with attack. Tankers arrived and nursed E-54. E-59-1 hit a Hydrant on Main St. in Middeltown to fill tankers. After the fire was knocked down and overhaul complete E-54-1's crew placed into service a foam line to blanket the interior of the structure and crews were released. State Police Fire Marshal determined the cause to be electrical and the Trailer was a complete loss with no fire Insurance.

Brush Fire on
Engle
February 12
At 1151 hours Dauphin County dispatched Box 54-6 for a reported brush fire on Engle Road. Captain 54 (Kandrac) went enroute and county advised a brush fire about the size of a block spreading quickly towards a barn, owners are trying to extinguish . Second call received by Dauphin County at 1158 hours reported that they believe they have the fire out . Captain 54 arrived and confirmed fire out. E-54-1 (Captain 1 Dupler) arrived and used the front turret to apply a class A foam blanket to the burned area and the box was placed in service.

Calls Today
February 14
Today company 54 members kept busy with 6 calls for the day. This morning faced with snow, sleet and freezing rain County dispatched box 54-7 for a roof collapse. Chief 54 arrived and confirmed a roof was bowing on a Mobile Home. Utility 54 and A 54-1 transported the home owner to other housing and the scene was turned over to the park manager. E-54-1, Utility, R-88 and Londonderry EMS.
Next up was a crash reported a vehicle had left the Turnpike and was in the woods off of Schoolhouse Road near the Anglers and Hunter. E-54 arrived and advised the car was over the guard rail in the woods with no Injuries. and the box was placed in service. E-54, E 54-1 OIC 54 and Londonderry EMS.
Crews then went for trees and wired on 441. E-54.
Then a reported structure fire in Middletown Borough at the Pineford complex E-54 placed in service.
As crews were returning from the Pineford call, County dispatched a second structure fire on Hoffer street which turned out to be a dryer vent E-54 again in service.
The last call was for a Tanker assist to Lancaster County, Mt. Joy borough for a 3 alarm fire. Crews on scene were having problems with frozen hydrants and needed tankers for water supply. For more info about the fire click the following link below.

Structure Fire
February 26
County dispatched Box 54-2 around 1400hrs on Walnut Lane for a reported structure fire. E-54 (Lieutenant Naples) went en-route and county advised that the neighbor across the street could see flame coming from the roof and chimney. E-54 arrived and reported nothing showing side A. Tanker 54 (Captain Kandrac) and Captain 54 took interior sector. E-54 crew went interior and found a fire in the wood stove with normal conditions inside. E-88 crew went to the roof and found that material around the flue cap was burned. Crews removed the burned debris from around the flue and interior crew removed the wood from the fire place. Box was placed in service.

Accident at
Roundtop and Waltonville
February 27
At 0735 this morning Engine 54 was dispatched to the intersection of Roundtop Rd/Waltonville Rd for an accident with injuries. Captain 54-1(Dupler) responded as the OIC and was advised that two vehicles collided head on in the "S" turns on Roundtop Rd and there was one female patient with a leg injury. Captain 54-1 arrived at 0745 to find a Plymouth Neon and a Honda Passport blocking the roadway and female driver with a compound leg fracture confined to the drivers seat of her vehicle. Engine 54(Captain Kandrac) arrived shortly after and stabilized the vehicle. Crews then removed the drivers side door of the Neon to gain patient access. The driver was extricated from the vehicle at 0810 and was transported to a local hospital by EMS. No other occupants were injured. Company 54 remained on scene for just under 1 hour.
