December 5
14:41hrs Co 54 dispatched to 283 Eastbound in the area of Newberry Rd. Escalade was traveling eastbound and struck an unoccupied car. Units remained on scene for approx. 1 hr. Captain Dupler with command.
House Fire in
Middletown
December 11
Around 2130 hours this evening, E54 was dispatched along with Co. 88 and mutual aid units to N Pine St Oak Hill Dr in Co. 88's first due for a house fire. X88-2 (Krupilis) arrived on scene to find a 1-1/2 story single family dwelling with heavy fire showing from the front of the structure and confirmed entrapment. E88 & E59 arrived and put an 1-3/4" attack line in service on side A of the structure. Crews located the victim in a rear bedroom of the house and began extrication immediately. Upon arrival, E54's crew reported to the rear of the structure to assist with extrication of the victim. The victim was removed from the house and transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Control was marked at 2203 and crews remained on scene for several hours performing extensive overhaul and assisting investigators. Good job by all, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the victims.
Accident
During "Santa Around the Township"

While the Company was making the annual "Santa Around the Township" run, E54 was dispatched to N Deodate Rd/Beagle Rd for an accident w/ injuries. Units arrived to find a minor two vehicle accident with two patients complaining of injuries. Both patients were packaged and transported to local hospitals. Units on scene for 30 minutes.

December 28
County dispatched company 54 for an accident with possible entrapment on 283 in the area of Toll House Road. Chief Shellenhamer arrived and advised negative entrapment and assumed command. E-54 and E 54-1 arrived and assisted EMS with PT extrication, securing the vehicles and providing lighting. Utility 54 closed down the right lane of traffic for units operating.
