3 Vehicle Accident on Route 230

County Dispatched box 54-3 for the crash at East Harrisburg Pike (Route 230) and Deodate Road. Engine 54 (Deputy Chief Nissley) went enroute with the info of three vehicles involved on the computer. Ambulance 54-1 and the Engine arrived to find a rear end collision that had involved three vehicles. Engine 54 crew secured the vehicles and assisted EMS with packaging 4 patients. Fire Police remained on the scene to assist PSP and Dailey's with removing the vehicles.

SUV Fire at 283 and Tollhouse Road
August 26, 2009

Around 01:00hrs county dispatched box 54-1 for a reported SUV on fire, 283 East bound at Toll House Road. Captain 54-1 (Dupler) went enroute and county advised multiple calls reporting a working fire. The Captain checked the area of Toll House Road finding nothing there he went towards Vine Street and Engine 54 headed East Bound towards 743. The Tanker responded and also headed towards Vine Street. Captain 54-1 then found the vehicle at the turn around between Toll House and Vine Street fully involved. Tanker 54 arrived first in and Chief 54-2 (Kleinfelter) pulled the line and started to attack the fire. Engine 54 arrived and crews assisted with overhaul. Crews were out for about an hour and returned home.

A couple of hours before this call came in crews were out for about 3 hours assisting PSP with a boat crash with no injuries near Shelly Island on the Susquehanna river.

Accident on South Deodate Road
August 28, 2009

County dispatched box 54-5 for an accident on S. Deodate Road in the area of Pine Oak Drive. Captain 54-1(Dupler) went enroute and county advised of one vehicle into a tree with one patient lying on a picnic table. Captain 54-1 went on the scene confirming one class 1 patient in front of the residence. Engine 54 arrived and started patient care and secured the vehicle. Crews remained on the scene to assist PSP.

Engine, Tanker and Utility on Double Fatal Fire
August 31, 2009

County dispatched the Engine and Tanker to assist Hershey in Conewago Township on Dogwood Drive for a structure fire. Chief 48 went enroute and county advised of a structure fire with entrapment. Engine 54 arrived behind Engine 48-1 and assisted crews with interior operations. Tanker 54 arrived and pumped the hydrant for Engine 48-1. Utility 54 assisted Company 48 Fire Police with shutting down local traffic. Crews remained on scene for several hours assisting with overhaul. An elderly couple living in the house perished in the fire.
