Underneath Box Truck on 283

While members worked at our annual golf tournament county dispatched box 54-1 on 283 West bound for a reported accident with injuries and entrapment. Rescue 88 arrived and advised negative entrapment with a car underneath the back of a small box truck. Engine 54-1 arrived and assited wtih securing the vehicles.

While members were cleaning up and winding down from the annual golf tournament county dispatched box 88-4 for an accident with confinement on 441 at the railroad tracks at the Royalton Borough - Londonderry Township line. Chief 88-1(Whitebread) arrived on the scene and advised it was a 54-4 box. Chief 54(Shellenhamer) and Deputy Chief(Nissley) went enroute from the Sunset Golf Course. Rescue 88 arrived and removed the door and assisted Ambulance 54's crew with packaging the Patient. Utility 54 was requested to assist with traffic control and the box was placed in service.

August 15, 2008
County dispatched Box 54-9 for the Susquehanna river at around 22:41 for a reported boating accident with entrapment. Chief 54 (Shellenhamer) went enroute and county advised that 2 boats had collided with one reported trapped under one of the boats and a total of 4 patients. Utility 54 with the boat and Special unit 88 with their boat responded to the Tri-County Boat club on 441 for deployment. In addition York county sent Goldsboro Boat 28 to assist. Boat 88 arrived and went to the southern tip of Shelly Island to look for the crash. Further reports form cell phone callers stated that everyone was out of the water with no one trapped however there was one Patient unconscious. With this info Command placed Life Lion on standby. Boat 88 arrived and confirmed the cell phone reports. Medics on board Boat 54 advised for the Lion to fly. Engine 54 (Chief 54-1 Nissley) established L.Z. 54 across the street from the boat club in a large front yard of a residence . Patient was transferred from an awaiting South Central EMS unit to the Lion. With all other Patients being transported by ground the L.Z. was terminated. Crews remained on scene and brought the 2 boats involved in the accident back to Tri-County for the Fish and Boat Commission.
